Admissions
Barnes Wallis Academy - 2028/29 Admissions Policy Consultation
Barnes Wallis Academy is consulting on its admission arrangements for pupils who will start at the Academy in September 2028.
The consultation will run from 9 November 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Why are we consulting?
The Trust is required to determine its admission arrangements each year. Where changes are proposed, the Trust must consult publicly before the arrangements are determined. If no changes are made, the arrangements must still be consulted on at least once every seven years.
Barnes Wallis Academy is proposing no changes but is consulting on the required seven year cycle.
We invite you to review the proposed admission arrangements and consider the following questions:
• Are the arrangements reasonable?
• Are the arrangements clear?
• Are the arrangements objective?
• Do the arrangements comply with the School Admissions Code 2021, the School Admission Appeals Code 2022, and the relevant legislation?
• Could the arrangements disadvantage or discriminate against anyone?
• Could any changes improve the arrangements?
Please send your response to DRETadmissions@dret.co.uk by 31 December 2026.
After the consultation closes, all responses will be collated and presented to the Trust Board in February 2027 for consideration before the admission arrangements are determined.
As an Academy in the David Ross Education Trust, we still operate under the Local Authority's admissions scheme.
The published admission number (PAN) is currently 120.
After this we allocate places based on the admissions criteria as outlined in the policy at the bottom of this page.
Transfers from Primary Schools to Year 7 are managed by Lincolnshire County Council. The County Council website also provides options for completing online admissions form for both normal and mid-year admissions.
For admissions at any other time, you may contact the Academy directly. Please call us on: 01526 342379. We would be delighted to welcome you to our Academy.
